Strike-out

I just want to say that I am so sick of strikes in Greece! I totally understand where they are coming from because I know the Greek government is way in debt so of course that means the public employees are getting hit with pay cuts and stuff... but it is still making it difficult. Probably once a week lately the taxis and/or the public buses won't be running. Plus, it's stressful for my roommate's friend who's staying with us for the week because there's supposed to be another strike on Tuesday when she's supposed to leave so if the air traffic controllers strike then no planes will be flying out of the airport! Anyway, so it stinks because we're going to Istanbul this weekend and some of us that don't have Friday classes wanted to leave Thursday night (it's an overnight train) but apparently this Thursday is a huge strike and even the trains aren't running. But we were already there today to get our tickets so we just ended up getting tickets for Friday night. I hate being in groups/ peer pressure sometimes. I would have just gone another weekend where I could have had more time since it's not exactly a cheap train ticket, but oh well I can't go to Turkey by myself so I guess I'll be happy with just two days. Sorry for the venting, but I really am super excited for this weekend!! Let me know if you want anything from the Grand Bazaar :) and I'll be posting pics and such from the trip probably on Monday or Tuesday.
